With a traditional butcher and baker, two shops and pubs and another of the county's most renowned butchers in neighbouring Melton Constable, this is a great centre for exploring North Norfolk.

Thornage and Little Thornage are neighbouring villages located in the Glaven Valley, one of the most attractive areas of rural North Norfolk. The area is ideal for walking and cycling and just a ten-minute drive from the coastal villages of Blakeney and Cley. Cley Marshes is recognised as one of the UK's premier bird-watching sites. The Georgian town of Holt is just two miles away and offers good quality shops, art galleries and eating places and Holt Country Park, where you can enjoy way marked walks and nature trails. There are two pubs in the neighbouring villages of Hunworth and Letheringsett, which serve good food.

Hunstanton is a popular traditional seaside town, with a long sandy beach backed by distinctive striped cliffs. A peaceful location that has very good access to the North Norfolk Coast, the coastal villages of Burnham Market and Brancaster and the sandy beaches of Thornham and Holme. The RSPB site at Titchwell offers wonderful bird-watching opportunities. The attractive market town of Fakenham is four miles away, with its shops, bowling alley, cinema, restaurants and pubs and a Thursday market which is not to be missed. Pensthorpe, home to the BBC Springwatch programme, is a great day out for all ages and is just 3 miles southeast of Fakenham. National cycle route 1 & 2 are just two of the routes that are in the locality and they will certainly test your staying power. A great location for a holiday at any time of the year with lots to see and do.

It is a perfect place to relax and unwind whilst enjoying the rural surroundings, and it also offers a restful haven at the end of a day visiting the many nearby attractions. Holkham, Brancaster and Wells are all within ten miles, with Fakenham just five miles away offering good shopping, pubs, restaurants, ten-pin bowling and a cinema. There is a garage/shop in the village and a pub, which serves meals, two miles away.

The property has been skilfully converted from a range of traditional farm barns and come highly recommended by previous customers. Each cottage has its own essential character, but all have beamed ceilings, attractive interiors and comfortable furniture. As an added bonus there is a spacious games barn, which has a snooker table, pool table, table football and a children's play area. You can also enjoy walks from the door, along the owner's private track and water meadow. The charming seaside town of Sheringham is an excellent location for a holiday in beautiful North Norfolk. The award-winning beach is of flint pebbles when the tide is high, giving way to a large expanse of smooth sand as the tide recedes. Cliffs rise on either side of the town, which has a backdrop of wooded hills, including those in the wonderful Sheringham Park. Sheringham is also home to The North Norfolk Steam Railway, Splash Leisure Centre, a golf course and an excellent selection of shops, tea-rooms, pubs and restaurants.

Cooper's Retreat is a detached three-storey period property, situated in the heart of Sheringham, just 300 yards from the beach.
