Guests are welcome to relax on the lawns and you can use the canoe launching site into a quiet branch of the River Ant, however the fishing rights are reserved for the local kingfishers and the occasional otter. The priory was mentioned in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, the Domesday Book, and was the subject of a prediction in Mother Shiptons Almanac.
