It is designated as an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and as an SAC (Special Area of Conservation). Holt Country Park, covering more than 200 acres of woodland and heathland is a similar distance away. It is made up of woodland dominated with Scots pine and native broadleaves and is home to abundant wildlife goldcrests, greater spotted woodpeckers, emperor dragonflies and deer. Excellent walking and cycling can be enjoyed from the doorstep and the property is ideally placed for bird watching with RSPB nature and bird reserves and North Norfolk coastline within 5 miles.
