We marketed it for many years as a 3 bedroom property, until 2011/12 when the owner made several alterations and improvements and relaunched it as a fabulous 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom property, suitable for 2 families or several couples. This 1830s stone barn was converted by the owner into luxury accommodation retaining many original features, including exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings and complemented with luxurious furnishings and exceptional facilities. All principal rooms have double or triple aspect with views to the Lakeland fells, Solway and the Scottish lowlands. It is situated in the historic hamlet of Bridekirk, just outside the Gem town of Cockermouth, which has a wide range of individual shops, restaurants, pubs, a major supermarket and visitor attractions. Cockermouth is famous as the birth place for William Wordsworth but has many other attractions, including The Sheep and Wool Centre, numerous art galleries, the Kirkgate Arts Centre and a good selection of Restaurants, Shops and Pubs. At Maryport there is the Harbour, Maritime museum and Aquarium of the Lakes. The border City of Carlisle is within 30 minutes drive. Barn Cottage and Loft Cottage are adjoining each other on a working farm, next to the owners house.They may be let separately or together for up to 11 people.

The Coast to Coast cycle route goes past the front door and the award winning Kirkstile Inn is close by for bar meals. Cockermouth is well worth a visit, with shops, restaurants, Brewery Tours and the Lakeland Sheep and Wool centre to name a few of the attractions. Trotters Animal World is a mere 20 minute drive and the seaside town of St Bees is a similar distance.
