Lowthwaite Farmhouse underwent considerable refurbishment by the new owners in 2010 to create a stunning self catering farmhouse of superior quality, which has the benefit of lovely fell views, a garden and ample parking. There are delightful walks in the valley and more strenuous walks on the surrounding fells. Threlkeld village is only 2 miles and has 2 pubs, both serve good food and one has a restaurant. Many more amenities may be found in Keswick, a vibrant market town 5 miles away.

It is the perfect base from which to explore the Central and Northern Lakes, with excellent walking and cycling from the door and many other outdoor activities are within easy reach. For less energetic days Keswick and Grasmere are nearby.
