Old Bog Farmhouse is situated in a peaceful, rural area, surrounded by open farmland and with views to the Lake District Mountains. Aldoth is in North West Cumbria, 5 miles from the Victorian seaside town of Silloth and the wonderful Cumbrian coast and within easy reach of The Lakes, Carlisle and Hadrians Wall. There are numerous nature reserves along the coast and excellent walks along the beaches and nearby fells. The nearest pub is 3 miles, at Abbey Town, with many more amenities in Silloth including leisure facilities, restaurants, pubs and shops. There are 2 golf courses within 5 miles, one in Aspatria and the award wining Links course at Silloth.

Accommodation overview: Commanding wonderful views over the Solway Firth to the southern Scottish hills, this large Victorian house (once the residence of a sea captain in the late 19th century) stands 20 yds from the beach. A spacious, self-contained holiday apartment (all of ground floor in photo), comfortably furnished and well equipped, with gravel sitting-out area to the front, and rear walled courtyard. In an AONB, with diversity of birds, occasional dolphins, and level cycle routes. Beautiful sands at Allonby (7 miles) accessed by the Cumbrian Coastal Footpath which passes the house. The Lake District, Hadrian’s Wall and Scotland are 45 minutes’ drive. Pubs, tennis (free use) and golf close by. Shops 300 yds.
