The house is surrounded by National Trust Fields and looks out over a delightful vegetable garden to lake Windermere beyond. For the keen walkers (or even an after dinner stroller) the house backs straight onto the path through Common Woods and up to Orrest Head, one of the finest short walks in the Lake District (according to Alfred Wainwright).
