Boat enthusiasts will enjoy the sight of one of the last remaining wherries as well as the heritage sailing fleet based at Womack Staithe.

Many years ago trading wherries sailed along the waterways and took malted barley from the large Maltings near Womack Staithe. Their names are confusing as Little Walsingham is the larger of the two villages and has been a centre of pilgrimage since the 11th century with both Catholic and Anglican shrines. Nearby Great Walsingham is set in the countryside, providing both excellent walking and cycling. The sandy beach at Wells is approximately five miles away. Great Walsingham has a complex of barns which house an arts/craft centre, antiques and the excellent Barn Cafe, whilst Little Walsingham has a number of shops, including an award-winning farm shop as well as pubs/restaurants.
