Although the cottages are situated in a tranquil relaxing area deep in the countryside they are also centrally positioned to explore the wider Yorkshire region. The historic city of York and Leeds are all within easy reach for a cultured day out with many museums and galleries or they are excellent for some retail therapy. Hull with its magnificent waterfront boasts a relaxing atmosphere along with a vibrant mix of culture, shopping and nightlife and events from jazz festivals to sea shanties all within a half hours drive away. You can also visit the stately homes of Sledmere House and Castle Howard which are nearby. You can also try your hand at fishing in the pools on the farm.

Accommodation overview: Acrewood is a truly superb property, formerly a barn and cottage which was merged and renovated to a particularly high standard, enjoying a mixture of contemporary and traditional features including the warmth and comfort of under floor heating throughout. The kitchen is huge and along with the necessary requirements it boasts a large range style cooker with induction hobs, double oven and warming oven and an American style fridge/freezer in the adjacent utility room, ensuring ease whilst catering for the larger party. This room is open to the eaves of the property with an abundance of exposed trusses and lighting features. The main lounge is very spacious too with the focal point being a large inglenook stone fireplace complete with black cast iron wood burning stove, comfortable seating and a large 50 flat screen TV, whilst a second sitting room provides a slightly smaller TV and X box a perfect retreat for the kids or young at heart! Within Acrewood a central vacuum system running throughout the house is just one of its hi-tec features. All the bedrooms are luxuriously furnished with sleigh beds and the two master rooms on the first floor have en-suite facilities, one of which has a Jacuzzi bath. Large grounds surround the property with ample private parking space for half a dozen cars, lawned gardens, a paved patio with garden furniture and BBQ and most important of all, electric gates ensuring the complete safety for children.
