Renovated and luxuriously refurbished in 2011, it is situated in the village of Threlkeld with views in every direction, from St Johns in the Vale and Cleugh Head to the front and the mighty Blencathra towering behind. Built from slate with a brown hue, mined locally and unique to Threlkeld, this impressive detached house enjoys the sun all day long and has phenomenal views from every room. There are two cracking pubs in the village, one with a restaurant and one serving bar meals. Keswick is 3 miles and access to the M6 is only 15 minutes drive.

The cottage which dates back to 1868 was formerly a barn which has been converted into two dwellings and has been fully modernised and refurbished to the same high standard as the owners other properties, Millerdale and Kiln How in Threlkeld. The village boasts a shop, 2 pubs serving bar meals and a restaurant all within walking distance and all accept pets. Keswick is only 2 miles away where you will find an abundance of amenities and visitor attractions. You can walk from the door in Braithwaite and there are some of the best mountain bike tracks in Whinlatter forest. There are fell views from the bedroom windows. Outside the cottage is an unloading area, ample on street parking and a gravelled garden with seating area.

Accommodation overview: This rustic cottage in Hayfield is set at the foot of the Kinder plateau. The cottage is situated between the village of Hayfield and the Kinder Scout reservoir and enables you to tour around the surrounding area and then relax after a days walking, biking or running in the heart of the Peak National Park. This converted stone building offers a fully equipped kitchen/diner and an adjoining lounge area. There is access to tumble dryer if required and a seating area to the front of the cottage with chairs and table. The garden can be accessed by stone steps and this overlooks Southhead and Mount Famine. This peaceful area can be used by the guests and is a nice area to relax after a day of adventures. There is ample parking for three cars and storage for bikes and equipment should you require it. Well behaved pets are welcome but cannot be left in the cottage alone. The owner can arrange for champagne and flowers for those special occasions and breakfast hampers can be arranged for an additional cost again direct with the owner. Please note that this cottage is adjacent to a working farm and has a horse on site thus there may be some noise from farm animals during your stay.
