Lammas is a small village on the edge of the Norfolk Broads, and is separated from the slightly larger village of Buxton with Lammas by the River Bure. The town also has a cinema and a ten-pin bowling alley as well as a National Hunt racecourse. Fakenham is just ten miles from the sandy beach at Holkham, two miles from Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, as featured in the BBC Springwatch nature programme, and two miles from The Hawk and Owl Trust at Sculthorpe.
