Excellent walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep and a round or two at Windermere Golf Club has to be one of the most interesting 18 holes in the area, the scenery simply breathtaking. Cleabarrow Cottage enjoys magnificent views across open countryside to the Langdales beyond and has large, mature gardens, some lawn, some terrace, from where to sit and watch a host of wildlife. The main bedroom has the advantage of a balcony with furniture, again with superb garden and fell views, and is sure to be utilised at every opportunity, either for breakfast or a nightcap. Cleabarrow Cottage is beautifully furnished, equipped to an excellent standard and has been well co-ordinated throughout to provide a glorious home. About 1 mile west of Ullswaters Aira Force (a superb walk from the door), Dodds Lee is easily accessible from the M6, just a 15 minute drive.

The Granary is situated in the tiny hamlet of Scalehouses, which consists of a farm and 2 or 3 houses, between the pretty villages of Croglin and Renwick in the Eden valley. This tranquil area of Cumbria is completely unspoilt by tourists and although it does not have the drama of the Lakes the countryside is equally impressive, but without the crowds. It lies on the edge of the Pennine hills on the Coast to Coast cycle route and is perfect for walking, cycling, pony trekking, riding and canoeing. The area offers some excellent walking and cycling opportunities for all ages and abilities and there are plenty of country pubs in which to quench your thirst.
