A free motor-day launch is provided (seats 5 people) - great fun for having picnics down-river or shopping trips to bustling Wroxham, which boasts the largest village store in the world.
The first floor balcony provides a sun-trap for relaxing and watching the wildlife and boats going by. This deceptively spacious accommodation has been furnished using antique-style pine furniture, and is wheelchair friendly with ramps and extra wide doors throughout the ground floor. A leisure centre, with an indoor swimming-pool, is just 100 yards away. Cycle and dinghy hire is available locally, and riding and golf are catered for within 15 miles. Several nature trails are within easy reach for the bird-watching enthusiast.
Blickling and Felbrigg Halls (NT) are within easy reach for day trips; and the North Norfolk steam railway is 35 minutes away. The medieval city of Norwich, with its historic buildings and varied shops, is 11 miles. Great Yarmouth (17 miles) offers sandy beaches, amusement arcades and a fun-fair, all great for a family day out. BeWILDerwood - A Curious Tree house Adventure, lies just 1 mile distant and is a forest of wild family fun and outdoor adventure. The pretty Broadland village of Horning has shops, pubs, a restaurant and a post office.

Sandringham Estate - the Queen’s country residence, with its Jacobean-style house, museum, superb gardens and park are open to the public when the Royal Family is not in residence. The market town of Wisbech is 15 miles, and the medieval town of Kings Lynn, 6 miles, features a handsome waterfront and an array of shops, inns, restaurants, a theatre, cinema, bowling alley and sports centre. Downham Market, 10 miles, with its Friday and Saturday markets boasts a direct rail link to Ely, Cambridge and London (1hr 20mins). To the south lies Ely Cathedral, ‘Ship of the Fens’, standing proudly in the small city of Ely, which has an excellent Saturday market and a good variety of gift shops, as well as a pretty waterfront and boat hire. Cambridge is easily accessible for the day and well worth a visit. One of the nicest ways to explore the city is by punt, which meanders through the city and passes many of the stunning university grounds. Norwich is an hour’s drive, where a visit to the stunning cathedral is not to be missed. A network of quiet lanes and local footpaths offer good walking and cycling from the door.
