Binham is a beautiful, peaceful village retaining all the charm and character of a bygone age. The village has the remains of an early 12th century Benedictine priory, where classical concerts are held throughout the summer and the whole area is steeped in history. The Georgian town of Holt is five miles away with the harbour town of Wells four miles away. Also nearby is the picturesque village of Blakeney, where narrow streets slope down to the tidal creek, and which offers sailing and beautiful coastal and marshland walks. The well-stocked village shop is a legendary village institution, as are the excellent butcher, gift shop and pub with its own micro-brewery.

The Flowerpot is a cosy single-storey hideaway, peacefully tucked away at the end of the owner's immaculate little vegetable garden. The accommodation is comfortable and has period furniture, together with laden bookshelves. There are views across the garden walls to the spectacular Priory ruins in the fields beyond. Thursford is located midway between the towns of Fakenham and Holt and only six miles from Wells-next-the-Sea. It is an excellent location for a holiday, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural setting but also providing easy access to the many attractions in the area. The village is best known for the Thursford Collection, but is also home to Thursford Wood, a medieval wood pasture containing some of the oldest trees in the country.

The Hay House is an attractive conversion on a small family-owned working farm. It is on the outskirts of the village and there is access to the surrounding farmland with the owner's permission. Many original features have been retained and there is an attractive mezzanine sleeping area which will be popular with children and the young at heart. Hunstanton is a popular traditional seaside town, with a long sandy beach backed by distinctive striped cliffs. There are reminders of its Victorian origins including the promenade, the large green and the attractive esplanade gardens. Hunstanton town offers a host of activities for the family including a Sea Life Centre, a fun fair, tennis courts, bowling green and a sports and leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, crazy golf and pitch & putt course. A little further along is quieter Old Hunstanton, which is a picturesque village with mellow carrstone houses, an impressive medieval church and a championship golf course, there is also a new eighteen hole golf course at nearby Heacham Manor. The nature reserves at Scolt Head, Titchwell and Holme Dunes are just a short distance away. The coastal footpaths in the area are great for walking and bird-watching. The Royal Sandringham Estate is approximately eight miles away, a wonderful day out with its cycling, walking and picnic opportunities.

The area is renowned for its bird watching opportunities with Cley and Blakeney easily accessible. National Cycle routes 1 & 2 will take you through some super countryside and villages. With the coast so close and countryside on the doorstep this is a good location if you enjoy walking. The village pub, The White Horse, is within easy walking distance of the cottage. Restaurants, shopping facilities and farmers markets can be found at Fakenham.
