Accommodation overview: Alta Lyn Barns are set in a glorious position with far reaching views out to the Bristol Channel, set high up in Lynton on an alpaca stud farm. These three properties are part of a conversion of barns and workshop which offers courses on arts and crafts on Tuesdays, alpaca experience and hand spinning and weaving, or visitors can use the studio for their own artwork. The holiday apartments have been fully restored with exposed beams and rafters. Set amongst some of the most glorious scenery to be found in Devon, plenty of footpaths and coastal walks can be taken from the apartments, which are on Exmoor National Park. Walk through the heather; look out for red deer, ponies and buzzards. Take a trip into Dunster, 10 miles, and visit the historic yarn market and castle. Minehead, with its sandy beach, is 18 miles. Take in all the small villages close by, such as Blue Anchor, Watchet and Old Cleave and the many National Trust properties waiting to be explored. Shops 1 mile, pub 100 yards.

Woody Bay and Lee Bay are popular sheltered coves with rock pools which are less than 4 miles away and slightly further afield are lovely sandy beaches like Woolacombe. Other attractions in the area include Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, The Valley of the Rocks, Arlington Court, Watermouth Castle, Exmoor Zoo and more. Ideally situated for touring Exmoor and the surrounding area. A stretch of the old Lynton to Barnstaple narrow-gauge railway crosses the farm. Leisure facilities: stroll the land and see the animals, enjoy feeding Crackerjack (our resident old pony) who still likes small children sitting on his back. Red deer are often seen on the farm.
