Imagine waking to the sounds of the sea and taking an early morning, five to ten minute stroll, to the beautiful sandy beach to catch the surf, or just relaxing in the balmy summer evenings whilst enjoying the most spectacular sunsets, absolutely wonderful! With tremendous character and furnished with flair, the warm and welcoming atmosphere is ideal for groups of friends and families and the generous proportions ensure there is plenty of space for everyone. All of the rooms evoke the feeling of an eclectic mix of design direct from the pages of a home style magazine, making this lovely semi detached property something rather special. The rear garden, backed by National Trust Land is tiered with several steps between expanses of lawn and is enclosed by a low picket fence. You may need to take care with toddlers but older children will appreciate the climbing frame and slide, while the adults just relax and take in those spectacular sea views. After a busy day on the beach or out exploring this wonderful area what could be better than relaxing in the indoor hot tub, a luxurious bonus to this splendid holiday retreat. Just a few minutes stroll will take you to the village centre with its charming mix of thatched cottages, local stores and a great choice of pubs and restaurants. The beach path also winds its way from the village to beautiful Croyde Bay and the softest golden sands backed by dunes. Being in the same location as our cottage Thatcher’s Leggett gives a perfect opportunity for extended families or friends to enjoy their own space while holidaying together. With a high vaulted ceiling giving a sense of space and light, the spacious comfortable open plan living room has a log burning stove for cosy evenings all through the year and a modern well equipped kitchen /dining area. An attractive twin bedroom and shower room is also on the ground floor. From the entrance hallway a solid wood staircase rises up to the mezzanine floor and a spacious double bedroom with separate dressing room and ensuite bathroom. This attractive galleried landing area, with far reaching views, is a lovely spot for relaxing in the comfy chairs to read a book or the morning papers, and a second TV is a useful bonus for families. A real treat is the large lawn to the side of the cottage, ideal for children to run and play, and the pretty front patio is just perfect for leisurely al fresco meals, barbecues or just relaxing at any time of day. Keen walkers will enjoy taking the footpath to stunning Putsborough beach, which leads almost from the doorstep and takes around twenty minutes.

Perfect for keen walkers, there is also a bridleway / footpath leading from the doorstep all the way to the stunning beach at Putsborough around 20 minutes away. The light, bright and spacious open plan living room with kitchen and dining area boasts a high vaulted ceiling, comfy seating and a wood burning stove, making it the cosiest of retreats at any time of year. An attractive twin bedroom is also situated on the ground floor together with a modern bathroom. From the entrance hallway a smart wooden staircase runs up to the mezzanine floor with a spacious galleried bedroom and ensuite cloakroom. Eclectic styling, sloping ceiling and lovely views over the surrounding countryside from the Velux style windows make this a really special room. The fully enclosed rear patio and lawn backing onto open fields is ideal for a leisurely barbecue with the sound of the waves in the distance, and younger guests will love the space to run and play. The living room, complemented by solid wood flooring, has comfy leather sofas surrounding the attractive ornamental fireplace. A useful utility room has plenty of storage for beach equipment, coats and boots, and a conveniently placed small wet room is ideal for surfers and sand covered children returning straight from the beach. There are four bedrooms on the first floor, the double having an ensuite bathroom and a separate small study/nursery. French doors open onto a decked balcony, with patio furniture, having lovely views over the surrounding countryside and spiral staircase to the garden below.
