It has a stone flagged entrance hall, feature staircase curving to a balustrated landing on the first floor, solid oak floor boards, lime-washed walls, a large open plan living area with beamed ceiling, window seats, stone and lime rendered fireplace with wood-burning stove. The kitchen is stone flagged with vaulted ceiling, original, exposed beams and a hand crafted kitchen incorporating pine panelling from the original chapel. The cottage has gorgeous views over wild-flower meadows, Straw Beck flows right opposite the cottage. The historic landscape is rich in wildlife, rivers and waterfalls, ancient paths and tracks and an ideal base for a wide range of year round activities or just plain relaxing.

The North York Moors steam train can be boarded at Whitby on route to the market town of Pickering stopping at Grosmont and Goathland (alias Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat).
