Accommodation overview: Set in a bay, once voted the most romantic in England...and just minutes from attractions to delight all ages Set on the main Heritage Coastal Route with views out to the coast, these charming holiday homes will delight all ages. Each one offers individual character and charm. Converted from former barns, the cottages have been created with great attention to detail by caring owners to offer a holiday experience to remember. Set on the edge of Embleton Village, on what was once voted the most romantic bay in England and close to the popular villages of Craster, renowned for its smoked kippers, and Beadnell with its water sports and Newton-by-the-Sea with its National Trust beach and micro brewery. Alnwick is only 7 miles with its majestic castle (used in the Harry Potter films), lots of cobbled streets, enchanting gardens, playhouse, inns and restaurants. Dunstanburgh Castle in nearby Craster makes a lovely walk along the cliff top, reached only by foot. Finish off with fresh seafood on the way back in one of the many fine and friendly pubs dotted along the coast. Seahouses known for its fine fish and chips and small working harbour is always a visitor’s favourite. Holy Island is not to be missed but check the tides first or take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands to see the puffins or seals whilst in Seahouses. Embleton village has a friendly pub and restaurant, garage, post office, well-equipped children’s park and magnificent sandy bay. A beach hut is also available to hire in Newton-by-the-Sea (an NT beach) by arrangement with the owner. Only two minutes’ walk to the village pub and post office and only ½ mile from the East Coast Railway, this perfectly located holiday cottage is situated 1 mile inland from the quaint coastal village of Alnmouth and 3 miles from Alnwick, officially voted the ‘best place to live in Britain’ by Country Life magazine. It has a wall mounted designer Gazco log gas fire in the living room as well as flatscreen TV and comfortable leather settees; four of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities. Perfectly located to explore the magnificent Heritage coastline with lovely coastal walks starting in the village. Stabling is available in Alnmouth and fishing close by. Attractions locally include Alnwick (3 miles) with its majestic castle and enchanting gardens with one of the biggest water gardens in Europe, Warkworth Castle (3 miles), Amble Harbour and Marina (5 miles), Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle and Seahouses. Boat trips are available to the Farne Islands to visit the puffins and bird sanctuary, or visit Holy Island when the tide is out by driving over the man-made causeway.
