"We would recommend Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest anytime. It is in a gorgeous setting with comfortable funiture and beautiful log cabins. It has lovely walks and a small petting zoo with lots of other things to do such as archery and the swimming pool. Everything is a very reasonable price and the location is great. It is fantastic for a relaxing holiday but we never wanted it to end. Rufford Mill is very nearby (less than 5 minutes) with two tearooms and a restaurant (carvery on Sundays). The tearoom near the abbey does a fantastic fry up hot chocolate and cakes. Do not hesitate to book this place it was clean and comfortable and the staff are the friendliest people ever! "

"I recently visited your park in Nottingham with my fiancee my sister and her boyfriend. After visiting all four of us have been highly recommending you to all our friends. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time staying there and after our stay we are now planning on making this short break an annual occasion. All the staff were extremely helpful too even helping recommend a local nail beautician to my fiancee which was above and beyond her job and helped us out a lot."

"A beautiful setting quiet and peaceful. On a hot day the cabin remained lovely and cool and was a welcome haven after a hot day out touring. The staff had a lovely sense of humour and were helpful but not intrusive - you felt as if you had space but you knew they were there if needed."
Miss H, 07 July 2009

"We have just had a most welcome and refreshing weekend away at Sherwood Castle Holiday Forest. We rook two boys aged 9 and 10 and they had a fabulous time exploring the vast woodland areas. The pool and indoor play area was excellent too we just did not have enough time to do everything. The Archery lessons were a huge highlight (thank you John for the great tuition. A great place for children to run free and ride bikes in a place where cars have a welcome rest at the side of their cabins. Very friendly and welcoming staff and the accommodation was very clean and warm. The benefit of beds made upon our arrival meant we could value every minute of our holiday. We did venture out not far! Across the road from the park is Rufford Country Park we had a super time roaming around the ruin of the great Abbey and were lucky enough to be there at the time the local art society were exhibiting their work what a treat. We also had lunch at the Sherwood Forest Park a short car journey away and looked in awe at the amazing 1000 year old Oak Tree. We cannot wait to book up again!"
Mrs T, 22 February 2009

"My three year old daughter loved it. There were enough activities to keep her occupied (mainly free or for very small charge) and we could not get her away from the swimming pool. Self-accommodation gave us the freedom of organising our day freely and the quality of the furniture and electric appliances were very good. For our first self-accommodation holiday I was very impressed. The staff were always very helpful and friendly and made us feel totally at home. We will repeat very soon!"

This time round we tried the archery and were delighted to find something that we both enjoyed and intend to pursue in the future. Set in a beautiful woodland site the park is a few minutes walk from Rufford Mill Country Park a short drive from Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre and a bit further to Clumber Park. All are delightful places to enjoy walks and some rather nice dog-friendly eateries (outside for the most part). We came back from our week long break feeling refreshed and eager for our next visit. "If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place and the park has very nice accommodation."
Mrs R, 30 September 2006

"Definitely would recommend this for families with younger children. Pool was more than adequate indoor play area and games on display were brilliant. We even played ourselves whilst kids were on the indoor play area. Very welcoming site and more than enough to keep the kids occupied indoors and outdoors. The woodland area is a definite must to explore as Robin Hood displays everywhere in the Forest which we didn't know about until we actually walked through the woods and came across them."
Mrs G, 11 November 2009

"The peacefulness of the site and the cosiness of the lodges were wonderful and there's so much to do for children in the surrounding area. "

"A great Easter holiday which was very relaxing. We were extremely lucky with the weather and enjoyed a sunny week which obviously made it easy for us to keep the children (aged 5 and 3) entertained in the forest. They thoroughly enjoyed their evening walks to collect wood for the fire and when we suggested venturing further afield to explore they were adamant that they would rather stay on site! "
Mrs L, 18 June 2009

"The log cabin was fantastic it had a very well equipped kitchen a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and 2 good sized bedrooms with the master bedroom having a 4 poster bed. The park is set in secluded grounds and has good facilites however a car is essential if you are to make the most of the area. The indoor pool and activities at the park are good and will suit all age ranges - highly recommended!"
Mr A, 02 June 2009

"A very good clean and freindly place to visit with the family. "
Mr P, 29 September 2008

"Some of the staff were not very approachable. I phoned before arrival to ask about washing facilities and was assured that there would be a washing machine and clothes horse. There was no clothes horse on arrival and when I asked at reception I was told they did not supply them! On the last day of the holiday I found out that other lodges did have them! I also felt that the lodge was dusty and not very clean. The information did not say that we would have to provide our own towels washing up liquid bin bags toilet roll dish cloths etc. Considering how much we paid for the holiday I feel that some of this should have been provided."
Mrs D, 20 July 2009
