Accommodation overview: LOVELY 200 YEARS OLD COTTAGE IN TRANQUIL VILLAGE SETTING In the tranquil village of Walkhampton, this end of terrace cottage has recently been lovingly renovated, furnished and equipped to a high standard. Nestled within Dartmoor National Park, this fascinating area of 365 square miles of glorious, rugged countryside is on your doorstep and is a haven for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. There is an abundance of lovely walks and cycle routes from the village, from a leisurely stroll through the countryside to the 15th century church, to a full day's trek or cycle over the beautiful moorland for the more adventurous, or just a peaceful picnic taking in the breathtaking views. There are golf courses, horse riding, coarse fishing and cycle hire available locally. There is so much to see and do in the area. Other local places of interest are the ancient stannery town of Tavistock, voted 'Best Market Town in Britain' in February 2011, Princetown, with its world famous Dartmoor Prison, Burrator Reservoir, Buckland Abbey, which is the former home of Sir Francis Drake, Merrivale, Lydford Gorge and Morwellham Quay. You will be a short drive to some of South Devon and Cornwall's award winning beaches such as Bigbury on Sea, Whitsand Bay and The English Riviera.
