Accommodation overview: Johans Cottage is a quintessential Highland cottage situated in an idyllic location with garden grounds leading directly down to the sea. Built of local Torridon stone and named after its original owner it has been in the same family for many generations.The current owner has recently upgraded and refurbished this delightful cottage and it now provides modern, bright and attractive accommodation in a lovely setting. Perched on the edge of Loch Kishorn in the small hamlet of Achintraid Johans cottage enjoys spectacular views of the Applecross Mountains with an ever changing seascape in the foreground. The garden grounds extend down to the waters edge and seals and even the occasional otter can be seen close by. There are mussel beds in the bay and when the tide is out visitors can walk across the sand to gather fresh mussels for dinner. There is also an excellent seafood restaurant in the nearby village of Kishorn.

Accommodation overview: This traditional fisherman's cottage is beautifully situated on the sea front of this picturesque Wester Ross village and enjoys wonderful views of the sea loch, coast and surrounding mountains. The house is well-maintained and offers unpretentious but comfortable and homely accommodation in a magnificent location. Guests have access to a large enclosed field to the rear and to the front, the shoreline is just across the street.
Sheildaig is a peaceful and popular village with a small harbour used by small fishing boats and Torridon Sea Tours offering full and half day excursions by boat. Fairly remote, it sits amongst the spectacular and rugged scenery of the Torridon region, famous for its mountains, geology, wildlife and rare plants and a haven for climbers, walkers, ornithologists, botanists, sailors or anyone seeking the tranquillity of West Highland life. The village has a shop and hotel with further facilities 14 miles away in Lochcarron. Roads here wind through hills and along shorelines with ever-changing vistas and trips can be taken to the spectacular Applecross peninsula, the Isle of Skye, Loch Maree and Gairloch or the fascinating Inverewe Gardens at Poolewe.
