Accommodation overview: This cosy cottage is situated in an idyllic spot at the end of a shared, narrow, unmade farm lane and close to the owner's 15th century grade II* listed thatched farmhouse. Offering peace and tranquillity, it is ideal if you really want to get away from it all. There is lots to see and do in the area, with public footpaths and riverside walks nearby as well as fishing at Stafford Moor Fishery, excellent golf at High Bullen, Libbaton and Torrington, and cycling on the Tarka Trail (bicycles can be hired locally). Family attractions such as Torrington 1646, The Big Sheep or The Milky Way are always a good day out. For those looking for quieter pursuits RHS Rosemoor and Dartington Crystal at Torrington are well worth a visit. There are pubs and a well-stocked village shop in Dolton. The Duke of York at Iddesleigh is 3 miles away and renowned for excellent food and traditional pub ambience. Wonderful beaches are within 17 miles. You can also relax in the garden; a magnificent spot for breakfast, drinks or sunset supper, overlooking a paddock where sheep graze, and with superb views of open countryside. Truly, this is a little piece of heaven in Devon. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: both double. Bathroom: with power shower over bath, heated towel rail and WC. Downstairs the entrance door leads down a couple of steps into the spacious Lounge/diner: with Victorian brick floor, ancient fireplace with wood burner (complimentary first basket of logs), TV/DVD with Freeview and hi-fi. Plenty of interesting reading matter, games and puzzles. Kitchen: modern fitted with ceramic double sink, electric cooker and hood. Utility room: with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, additional sink and storage. Outside: the garden is not enclosed but not overlooked and mainly lawn (partly level), with picnic table and BBQ. Small children must be closely supervised as the paddock is several feet below the lawn, down a very steep bank and could be a hazard. Amenities: bed linen and electric included. Central heating if required an additional £20 per week. Towels for hire. 1 dog by arrangement. Regret no smoking. Location: beach 17 miles, pubs and shop in Dolton under 2 miles. Arrival: 4pm.
