Haddington is also on National Cycle Route 76 "Coast and Castles". The town boasts excellent local amenities, a sports centre, varied restaurants, interesting shops. a supermarket, children's park with excellent play area and riverside walks. Glenkinchie Distillery approx 3 miles away, Edinburgh 18 miles.

Edinburgh is approximately 1/2 hour by car. Gullane has a selection of shops and friendly hotels serving food.
