This is an ideal location to explore many local attractions, including NT homes and gardens such as Leonardslee, Wakehurst Place, Nymans, in addition racing at Hickstead, Lingfield, Epsom and the South of England Showground. Chichester (½ hour) has its ancient cathedral, festival theatre, Roman ruins, harbour tours and tearooms. At Arundel the castle and Wildfowl Trust are popular.
