Accommodation overview: Sandend Cottage can be accurately described as a quintessential seaside hideaway. Situated in a conservation village this 300 year old listed cottage nestles between a truly beautiful sandy bay and a small fishing harbour - one of the oldest harbours in Scotland. Visit the Moray Firth Wildlife Centre situated at Spey Bay, where the mighty river Spey reaches the sea. Seals, dolphins, whales and otters are all regularly seen, together with numerous sea birds, including ospreys. There are also a number of cruises available from Banff and MacDuff to encounter the sea life close to hand. The crystal clear rivers in this part of the Highlands ensured the development of the whisky trade and there are many famous distilleries to visit along the nearby "Whisky Trail".
