Accommodation overview: Rowan Cottage was built in 1843 as a wee free church, a branch of the Church of Scotland famously strict in its religious practices. The beautiful, old beams throughout the property are testament to its history and a delightful character feature. Out of the world and into Borgue is a local saying aptly describing this pretty little village, which is surrounded by beautiful beaches, green and pastoral landscape and amazing little towns each with their own fascinating history. The name Borgue is derived from the Gaelic word Burg meaning little hill. The village itself is set amidst the rolling hills of Galloway, a delightful and challenging landscape for all those who enjoy a good walk!
