Various footpaths from the edge of the village lead down to Forelands Beach (AONB) and Culver Down (NT) - an area abundant in wildlife and good for bird-watching. The quaint village of Bembridge has a wonderful collection of local shops including a farm shop, butcher and delicatessen as well as post office, gift shops, several fine restaurants, three pubs, the NT Windmill and the RNLI Lifeboat Station. Bembridge Harbour offers good sailing; there are two sailing clubs, fishing, and the fresh daily catch of crab and lobster can be purchased in the village. For the outdoor enthusiast there is golf (nearest course 15 minutes), water sports (sailing, wind and kite surfing), scenic walking, cycling or riding. There are numerous attractions to visit, including Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, NT homes and gardens, animal/wildlife centres, country/adventure parks, Shanklin Chine, steam railway, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Calbourne Mill or The Needles in West Wight.
