Sleeps 8
Weekly price range £600 to £899

Self catering accommodation in Tewkesbury sleeps 8.

Features include: • Pool • Short Breaks • Pets allowed • Sleeps 8

Accommodation overview: Commanding panoramic views across the Avon, Woodend Farm offers a gloriously rural location for a Cotswolds holiday. The four cottages – along with a banqueting barn – are ideal for larger groups while individually they are equally suitable for smaller parties. Imaginatively converted from listed barns, they each enjoy shared use of an outdoor heated swimming pool (late May to early September) and a children’s playground. For larger group bookings, the Banqueting Barn is available by arrangement with the owner at cost. With its own kitchen, cloakroom and, if required a full catering service, it can dine up to 22 people and is ideal for special occasion celebrations and family get-togethers. In shared gardens there is room for a variety of outdoor games. There are many local footpaths to explore too, some leading down to the River Avon, where private coarse fishing is available at cost. Visitors can enjoy special concessionary rates (details on request) at an exclusive country club just a few minutes away, where facilities include an indoor heated swimming-pool, spa, steam room, sauna, solarium, fitness centre, beauty salon, bars and a restaurant. An 18-hole golf course is also available. The farm lies at the end of a quiet lane, with breathtaking views over the Avon Valley and the Cotswolds. Tewkesbury, just 1½ miles away, stands as a small market town, largely untouched by the Industrial Revolution and is characterised by timber-framed medieval buildings and elegant Georgian houses. Being at the convergence point of four main roads, there is easy access from here to the towns of Gloucester, Worcester, Ledbury and Evesham – these all being within a distance of 15 miles. The pretty Cotswold villages nearby – renowned for their attractive honey-coloured stone houses – stand as witnesses to the prosperous times of the wool trade, when rich merchants during the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries built many of the area’s fine manors and churches from local stone. There is plenty of gentle walking to enjoy in the surrounding valleys, whilst the more dramatic Cotswold Way, running along the top of a ridge, passes through Cheltenham on its way from Chipping Campden to Bath lying further to the south. Shops 1½ miles.
