Accommodation overview: In a lovely location on the spectacular north coast, this stone built detached house overlooks the quiet crofting community of Kirtomy and enjoys wonderful views out to the cliffs and North Atlantic. The house was originally a croft house and dates back to the 1800's. It has a cultivated enclosed garden to the front and large rough garden area at the rear. The house is bright and welcoming and the quality renovation retained many of the lovely traditional features - a very comfortable and attractive holiday home in a wonderful location.
Kirtomy is ideally situated for exploring this magnificent scenic coast. There are many lochs around the area with free fishing, sailing, bird watching, pony trekking, hill-walking and a golf course further along the coast. Day trips can be arranged to the Orkney Islands from Scrabster. Bettyhill is approx 4 miles away with local shopping and hotels, the large country town of Thurso is 30 miles.

First floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite shower-room, 1 further double bedroom, bunk room (a cot is provided), and WC. Cooking by electricity, oil fired central heating plus open fire. Accommodation overview: In a spectacular clifftop location on the beautiful Caithness coast with magnificent open views of sea and moorland, this traditional, detached, single storey croft cottage stands in extensive grounds. The cottage offers a comfortable, warm and welcoming family holiday home with simple furnishings. There is an enclosed garden to the front.
The cottage is 1/4 of a mile off the A9 and two miles from the quaint old fishing village of Dunbeath, which has a fascinating Heritage Centre, village shop and pub. There are other pub/restaurants in the neighbouring coastal villages while the excellent shops and facilities of the bustling fishing port of Wick are a 1/2 hour drive. Local activities include golf, river and sea angling, walking, climbing and trekking and there are many sand and shingle beaches, or perhaps try gold-panning at Strath of Kildonan. The bird reserves of the isolated and deserted Flow Country are nearby and this is also an ideal base for exploring the far north of Scotland - John o'Groats and the Orkney ferry are within reach for intriguing days out.
