Accommodation overview: This magnificent detached villa is 'B' listed (of architectural and historical importance), and stands within the Loch Lomond National Park, 5 miles from the 'Bonnie Banks'. The villa has everything a large group could possibly wish for - it has been recently modernised to an exceptionally high standard and the spacious rooms are very comfortably furnished with many original features which add considerable charm and character. South facing, the villa enjoys lots of sunshine and has extensive well-kept grounds, safely enclosed for children and with a large seated barbecue area for outdoor living. The town of Helensburgh is located on the Clyde Coast and offers an ideal base from which to explore Argyll and The Trossachs. The train station is a 2 minute walk from the villa and day trips can include outings on the world famous West Highland Line to Fort William or Oban or to Glasgow. Helensburgh has excellent shopping, hotels, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops and is home to Hill House, the National Trust Visitor Attraction designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. There are excellent recreational and leisure opportunities locally including picturesque walks, golf, fishing, sailing, horse-riding, shooting and jet-ski-ing.

Boasting its own private decked sitting out area it is surrounded by the owners' pretty garden complete with pond whilst the harbour village green and coastline abundant with birdlife are almost on the doorstep. Close by Culzean Castle is well worth a visit as are Souter Johnnie's Cottage at Kirkoswald and the Burns National Heritage Centre at Alloway. Trips to the island of Arran depart from Ardrossan and day trips to Northern Ireland from Stranraer are easily possible. Troon is 20 miles. An excellent restaurant is within a short stroll and Maidens has a village shop.

There is pleasant walking on the estate the gamekeeper can arrange fishing (extra charge) whilst a nature reserve lies at the river mouth just south of Ballantrae (4 miles) and the Galloway Forest Park offers superb cycle trails. Accommodation overview: These four holiday cottages are on a 200 acre working farm and enjoy panoramic views over the sea to the Antrim mountains, Ailsa Craig and the Mull of Kintyre. This is a beautiful part of the coastline, just 1/2 mile from the ancient fishing village of Ballantrae. Girvan, a popular seaside town is 15 mins. drive. The farm includes 1 1/2 miles of beach, accessed by a short footpath from the main road below the cottages. The area offers fishing, golf at several excellent courses, sailing and horse-racing at Ayr. Shops and pub 1/2 mile, plus excellent local restaurants.
In an elevated position adjacent to farm buildings, 300 metres from the main road, each of the first 3 cottages have wondeful views to the sea.
The bright sunny rooms are simply furnished in homely style, ideal for a relaxed family holiday. We recommend a maximum of 4 adults.
