Loch fishing, golf and pony trekking can be arranged locally, for skiing Aviemore is within easy reach, and in summer there are the lovely beaches of the Moray Firth coastline. Local attractions include Glen Ord Distillery and the Moniack Castle Winery, or take a boat trip on Loch Ness for a pleasure boat trip.

Accommodation overview: West Mainland is the largest part of the largest island in Orkney and offers the visitor an unrivalled richness and diverse variety of attractions. The parish of Rendall lies on the north east side of West Mainland and at Tingwall, the harbour hosts a number of Orkney fishing boats as well as the ro-ro ferry to the islands of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre. Mainland offers delightful villages dotted through farmland with spectacular cliff scenery along the Atlantic coastline, sheltered sandy bays and unrivalled hill and moorland vistas. Accessed by 1/2 mile of private road from the main West Coast route south of Oban (4 miles away), this is an ideal peaceful location yet within easy reach of many activities and places of interest. Oban offers trips to the islands, a distillery, cinema and sports centre as well as extensive shopping. Sailing, diving, horse-riding, water sports, golf and tennis can all be arranged. Guests staying at Glenfeochan enjoy free fishing for sea trout, brownies and possibly even a salmon on the River Nell. Loch fishing can also be arranged. Shops 4 miles. Good choice of restaurants in the area. This charming cottage has its own pretty enclosed garden with barbecue and teak furniture, and guests may also use a picnic site (with pinic table) on the top of the hill behind the cottage with superb views over the valley. There is a ramp access and the spacious ground floor rooms have wide doorways. The interior design is very tasteful with comfortable furnishings and some lovely period furniture.
