Accommodation overview: Barrachandroman is a wonderful detached farmhouse dating back to the 1700s. The house is located on the south easterly corner of the Isle of Mull, situated between a sea loch - Loch Spelve and a fresh water loch - Loch Uisg. This is an amazingly peaceful and remote location to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Barrachandroman provides spacious accommodation for a large family or group holiday, with all the facilities, and much more, which you would require during your stay. An evening meal (by prior arrangement) can even be waiting for you on your arrival. The house is only 200 yards from the sea and surrounded by open countryside and hills. Red deer can be regular spotted on the hillside, otters feed along Loch Spelve and high in the sky sea and golden eagles soar above - a truly magical location. Three miles along the road from Barrachandroman at Loch Buie there is a large but quiet, sandy beach, Moy Castle, a standing stone circle and great walks. The Isle of Mull provides something for everyone, there are many places of interest such as Duart Castle, Torosay Castle, ruined villages from the time of the clearances, a narrow gauge railway, golf courses, fishing, superb walking, boat trips, wildlife spotting to name but a few. Tobermory in the North is well known as Balamory has its own distillery. The island has a small theatre and a mobile cinema frequently visits. The island has a great diversity of landscape from fertile ground in the north, a mountainous, barren centre where you can climb the islands only Munro - Ben More, to the distinctive roughed Devonian granite landscape to the south west. With a little exploring around the island you can find rocky coves and hidden white sandy beaches. The islands of Iona and Ulva are a must to visit, with short ferry crossings and beautiful peaceful places to explore. There are great sea trips over to the Treshnish Isles off the west of Mull and in the summer months, puffins and gannets can be seen on Staffa and Lunga. The roads on Mull (mostly single track) skirt round the edges of the island so you are never far from the sea and easy access to the coastline makes canoeing or taking a boat out very easy - Barrachandroman provides both. This close proximately to the sea means great opportunities to spot seals, porpoises and numerous birds. Mull is know as of Isle the fairest and it is a must to visit and explore the second largest of the Inner Hebrides Islands.
