Sudbury Hall is well worth a visit, built in the second half of the 17th century by George Vernon, it boasts many fine rooms for visitors to explore and the Long Gallery and Main Hall which was featured in the BBC’s Pride and Predudice. Located next to Sudury Hall is the Museum of Childhood which makes a great day out for all the family with many activities for children. Further northwest is Kedleston Hall, with its beautiful restored gardens and surrounding park which includes a fishing pavilion and a series of lakes and cascades. It also offers a restaurant and National Trust shop. Alternatively try shooting at Doveridge Clay Sports, have a day at the renowned Uttoxeter Racecourse, which is on the doorstep, or experience the stunning landscape of the Peak District National Park.
