"Excellent property. We will certainly be returning at some stage. The parking is a bit of a challenge if you have a big car but we cannot criticise anything else. The men and kids loved sitting outside besides the wood burner. Everything within the property was top quality and so well thought through. Location was excellent - with a great local pub at the bottom of the lane. Fantastic!"

"What a great place to stay - the house really did make our holiday more enjoyable. We have visited Whitby several times staying at hotels guest houses and self catering accommodation but South Haven is the best and we will be back. Every part of the house is of an excellent standard the sun lounge was very relaxing - it was the place everyone used on an evening enjoying a glass of wine while the doors were open looking at the beautiful garden. The showers were brilliant we really enjoyed using these on our return from a long walk about Whitby. The owner Chris was very informative of the house and the area etc nothing was any bother to him."

"What a fantastic cottage! Large and spacious it had everything we needed for a great holiday. The owner had paid attention to little details which made everything extra special. The "sun room" was great for relaxing in with a glass of wine and for playing cards in the evening and the garden was full of fruit trees which we were allowed to sample - the kids loved this. The cottage has 3 bathrooms so there was no fighting over the shower and the showers incidentally were something very special a luxury at the end of a day exploring. There is a bakery at the bottom of the street which supplies the most gorgeous bread and cakes as well as mouth-watering pies and pastries - we went down every morning to stock up. There is loads to do in Whitby and there are lots of shops tucked away in the winding streets and plenty of boats offering pleasure trips. The Abbey is well worth a look and the beach is lovely. There are lots of fish and chip shops so we never got hungry. The local park is a couple of streets away with a really good play area to keep kids amused for free. Robin Hoods bay and Scarborough are a bus ride away and worth visiting. You can get a family bus ticket for £10 which allows you to travel all day. For families with kids nearby Flamingoland is very good but there is so much there you won't see everything in a day. This was our first holiday in Whitby but it won't be our last - thanks for making it so special."

"On return from holiday I have already recommended the property to several friends - it's an absolute delight. The location is perfect - close to the beach harbour shops and restaurants. The furnishings and facilities in the property are everything you need for a fab holiday and the off-road parking is a huge plus for Whitby. Our family's favourite room was the sun room at the back of the house which was fab for getting us all together as the open plan access to the kitchen kept us all included. The layout has been planned to give a really roomy feel and gave our group of 4 adults 2 big teenagers and a baby loads of space - the bedrooms and bathrooms are very generous rather than trying to cram too much into the space available. The kitchen facilities are great - plenty of good sized crockery and glasses and home-from-home with regard to utensils and little extras :o) All in all one of the best holidays we've had and definitely one of the comfiest and friendliest properties we've had the pleasure of staying in - thanks very much."

"An excellent venue which fulfilled all the brochure promises. Very good for our small children who could play safely in the walled garden area. My wife particularly liked the "sumptuous" shower in the master bedroom. The kitchen equipment pots pans plates bowls and so on were good quality and plentiful. I do not see how it would have been possible to improve on any aspect of this wonderful cottage!"

"South Haven was fantastic! We were 2 families of 4 and had plenty of space to sleep each family. The kitchen is fully equipped and great to just sit about in and drink wine! The garden room was a lovely surprise as there was no pictures of it on the website. The house was very clean and well finished with the en-suites having multiple-jet power showers. We were impressed that the attic room had its own stair-gate to stop kiddies from falling and also an extra single bed. The house is only a few minutes from the centre of Whitby. The owner was very helpful providing directions and checking that everything was ok. The complimentary bottle of wine was also a nice touch - we would definitely return to South Haven! "

"We went as a large family and we had a lovely weekend break. The location of the kitchen lounge and conservatory were perfect for us all to communicate and be close. When walking into the property we were all amazed at how beautiful and spacious the cottage was - the rooms were well decorated and the bathrooms were to die for - deep baths and showers that you'd find in 5 star hotels! The location was excellent an easy stroll into Whitby bay. The owner of the property kept us well informed beforehand with directions and we felt safe in the knowledge that if there were any problems we were in safe hands. All in all what a fantastic trip we had and would go back in a flash - we are still talking about it now! Would definitely recommend to anyone! "

"The property was in a great location really close to bars restaurants and everything else you could want from a long weekend. The house itself was immaculate and had everything we needed we enjoyed a glass of wine in the garden and used the sunroom a lot. All the decor and fixtures are in very good condition. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to both couples and families as the garden is secure."
