Formerly the joiner’s cottage/workshop on Barmoor Castle Estate, Kern Cottage is a beautifully furnished, spacious stone-built holiday house with the bonus of a sauna, Jacuzzi and games room. Close to Holy Island and the fabulous sandy beaches of the Northumberland Coast and just 1 mile west of Lowick, it is a perfect ‘get away from it all’ holiday base. It lies just 30 minutes from Alnwick (with its castle and gardens) and 15 miles from the walled town of Berwick with shopping, sports and art centres and entertainment. Bamburgh Castle and a boat trip to the Farne Islands to watch the seals, are a must. There is excellent walking nearby. The National Cycle Route, golf at Goswick, riding schools and fishing are also all on the doorstep. Equidistant between Edinburgh and Newcastle, 1 hour. Shop 1 mile, pub ¾ mile.
