Within an easy drive north is Haworth, the jewel in the crown of the Worth Valley, and also the heart of Brontë Country, where the Brontë family once lived. Located on the edge of the Pennine Moors, this atmospheric and picturesque village is steeped in history; walk the cobbled streets and visit the museum and then one of the many tea rooms for homemade cake. Travel south and visit Holmfirth, the setting for long running TV series Last of the Summer Wine. There is also easy access to both Leeds and Manchester for city entertainment.
