And if visitors can tear themselves away from all these pleasures the wonderful Yorkshire moorlands and Dales invite exploration. Just half an hour's drive away is Pickering setting for the Flamingo Land theme park fascinating Eden Camp and the North York Moors Steam Railway. On the coast the traditional seaside resort of Scarborough quaint harbour town of Whitby and the picturesque fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay are all within an hour's journey. Shop and a pub serving food is 1 mile distant.

"The pool was a big plus for all of us as the weather was ok but not warm enough for the beach. Location was great for the park and ride into York and food/ other shopping as I had researched these on the internet before we went."

"Ellerburn Lodge is a lovely property in an ideal location not too far from the main attractions of York. There are wonderful gardens outside with a barbeque and seating area and inside the property all rooms are bright and spacious. We found the lodge extremely baby friendly for our one year old with no dangerous stairs or objects around. "
