Foxes Manor sits within a very secluded setting at the end of a quiet lane, but has a gate leading on to a pathway with easy access to the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, ofter referred to as the Venice of the Cotswolds. With mullioned stone windows, oak panelling and floors, and a ‘priest’s hole’, this is one of the most intriguing, evocative, detached Jacobean houses in the region. Each room is traditionally finished with antique furniture, original artwork, tapestries and rugs to complement the unique Jacobean features. An ideal holiday meeting place for family and friends, it provides a relaxing and comfortable base with added extras of a hot tub and snooker table to entertain all ages. Being within walking distance from the heart of the pretty Cotswold village there is plenty to choose from including a visit to the Model Village, the Cotswolds Motor Museum, the Cotswolds Perfumery, Birdland and the Bourton Model Railway Exhibition. Cycle hire is available in the village. There are many individual shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy as well as a gentle stroll by the water’s edge. Other nearby honey-coloured villages well worth a visit include Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh with its famous Tuesday market and Chipping Campden. For those who enjoy National Trust properties and gardens there is an abundance to choose from within easy driving distance including Hidcote Manor, Snowshill Manor, Bourton House, Kiftsgate Court and Batsford Arboretum.
