East and West Rudham villages flow into each other and are situated in a very pretty area of West Norfolk. East Rudham has a lovely village green with a "gastro" pub and one of the most visited shops in Norfolk. Stately homes abound with Houghton Hall and Holkham in the area. The market town of Fakenham has an excellent market on a Thursday and a visit to the auction rooms on the same day, can be very educational! The sandy beaches of Wells, Hunstanton and Holme are a short distance by car and of course there is excellent bird watching at both Titchwell and Holme nature reserves.

Hunstanton town offers a host of activities for the family including a Sea Life Centre, a fun fair, tennis courts, bowling green and a sports and leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, crazy golf and pitch & putt course. A little further along is quieter Old Hunstanton, which is a picturesque village with mellow carrstone houses, an impressive medieval church and a championship golf course, there is also a new eighteen hole golf course at nearby Heacham Manor. The nature reserves at Scolt Head, Titchwell and Holme Dunes are just a short distance away. The coastal footpaths in the area are great for walking and bird-watching. The Royal Sandringham Estate is approximately eight miles away, a wonderful day out with its cycling, walking and picnic opportunities.

Feather Cottage is furnished to a simple style that assists an authentic feel but all the modern conveniences are in place. Peasenhall lies along a valley running east to west and Peasenhall's main street (the A1120) runs alongside the 'Causeway' - a brook, which is now a culvert with bridges across it.
